MACEDON, Edessa. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ 27mm (8.86 g). Struck AD 241-242. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / EΔECEAIΩN, Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Nike and parazonium; being crowned by Tyche sanding left behind. Papaefthymiou 1 (D1/R1); SNG ANS 266. VF, brown patina under some deposits, light corrosion.
